Mouthwatering Mie Ayam You Can’t Have Enough Of in Sleman Jogja

Mie Ayam Bakso & Pangsit Goreng |
What’s crossing your mind when
somebody mentions the word “noodles”? If you are a lover of noodles, today is
your special day! Wink, wink… Why? It’s because I dedicate today’s article for
you the noodles lovers! I am a lover of noodles and I happily suggest you
try the famous Mie Ayam in Jogja.
Have you ever been to Jogja? If you’ve
been here, you probably notice that there are many restaurants, stalls, and event
food carts sell Mie Ayam. There are
various ways to cook and serve Mie Ayam and what I’d like to share today is Mie
Ayam & Bakso Pak Aris.
Located in Tambakan Sinduharjo
Ngaglik Sleman near MIN 2 Sleman, Mie Ayam & Bakso Pak Aris is a stall that only sells five
dishes namely Bakso, Mie Ayam, Mie Ayam
Bakso (Chicken Noodles Soup with Meatballs), Mie Ayam Bakso Goreng (Chicken
Noodles Soup with Fried Meatballs), and Mie Ayam Ceker (Chicken Noodles Soup with Chicken Feet). What I had there was Mie Ayam Bakso. This Chicken Noodles Soup I
had was served in a Javanese way. I said it that way because many dishes in Jogja
are often served sweet. I went to this place in the month of Ramadhan, thus a part of the stall was closed with a blue cloth though the stall was open.

What’s in a bowl of Mie Ayam
Bakso? As you can see in the photo below, Mie Ayam Bakso contains noodles,
slices of mustard greens, sweet chicken, scallions, and two meatballs. To
enrich the taste of this dish, Pak Aris also adds cucumber pickles in the bowl.
Most Mie Ayam dishes are not served with cucumber pickles so each time I found one
with this I always got excited because I like cucumber pickles!! Apart from
that, Pak Aris also served the noodles soup with side dishes; Pangsit Goreng (Fried Dumpling).

Delish Mie Ayam Bakso with Fried Dumplings and Sambal. |
Many people like to mix their
chicken noodle soup with some ketchup. No wonder, many sellers of this dish
prepare themselves with tomato ketchup, chili ketchup, and soy sweet ketchup so
that their buyers can have their very own way of chicken noodle soup’s
taste. Apart from the kinds of ketchup, people also like to add sambal or white
peppers.
How does your Mie Ayam Bakso
taste, Eunike? Well, I had this dish only with sambal to maintain its original
taste. In my point of view, the chicken noodles soup I had was rich in
sweetness and savory wrapped in mild spiciness. Loved it! I liked it more when this
mouthwatering experience was mixed with the acidic taste of cucumber pickles.
So flavorful! Bakso and Pangsit Goreng I ate were okay too but I liked my Mie Ayam
the most!
Mie Ayam & Bakso Pak Aris has
four choices of beverage. You can have tea, orange, milk, or dawet ayu. I heard
the last one mentioned was tasty but I haven’t tried it yet. Hopefully next
time I can get a chance!
If you would like to explore
street foods and explore Mie Ayam in Jogja, make sure you put Mie Ayam &
Bakso Pak Aris on your list. The price is so affordable and they only accept
cash. Mie Ayam Bakso that I had was IDR 11,000 and the hot orange drink I
picked was IDR 3,000. Nice price, isn’t it?
